Rico was born in 1970 in New Orleans, LA. Although he was born and raised primarily in New Orleans, Rico traveled internationally as he was growing up while his Father, Ernesto M. Alvendia, served as a Diplomat for the Philippines. In fact, he attended Jesuit High School in the Philippines from 1984 to 1987, where he also witnessed firsthand the historic Filipino Peaceful Revolution in 1987.
In 1994 Rico graduated with high honors from Loyola University, New Orleans, with a Bachelors Degree in Political Science. At the same time, he was commissioned as a Second Lieutenant in the US Army Reserves. In 1994, he was awarded an academic scholarship to Loyola University Law School in New Orleans. As a student at Loyola Law School, he excelled in the Moot Court Program and earned a spot as a member of Loyola’s renowned National Moot Court Team. He earned his law degree from Loyola in 1998 and immediately passed the Louisiana Bar exam. He, with his partners, started the Law Firm of Alvendia, Kelly, and Demarest, LLC in 2003.
P. Hogan Crosby is an accomplished attorney with a robust background in personal injury, toxic tort, premises liability, and maritime injury and property damage claims. Prior to joining Alvendia, Kelly and Demarest in 2024, he honed his legal skills at a prominent local defense firm, representing companies in a variety of industries, including insurance, construction, manufacturing and shipping.
Born and raised in Louisiana, Hogan earned his undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, Tennessee before returning home to pursue his Juris Doctor at Tulane University, where he served as Business Editor of the Tulane Journal for International and Comparative Law, and as a Student Attorney for the Tulane Domestic Violence Clinic. He is an active member of the New Orleans Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Section, currently serving as chair of the 2025 Law Day program, where he works to promote legal education and access to justice within the community.
In addition to his legal practice, Hogan is dedicated to youth development and serves as a member of the advisory committee to the Board of First Tee- Greater New Orleans, an organization focused on empowering young people through golf and life skills education.

Admitted to practice in Louisiana, the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals and the U.S. Eastern, Middle and Western District Courts of Louisiana. Active Member of the Louisiana Association for Justice.
Mr. Kelly has 23 years of litigation experience, including more than 30 jury trials. He has handled the successful prosecution of numerous multi-million dollar civil cases, to include obtaining a $17 million verdict in the landmark Louisiana case of Schreiber v. JCC and a $3.25 million verdict in Hampton v. Nix, both personal injury claims in Civil District Court in New Orleans. (See list of recent cases)
Barrett grew up in St. Bernard Parish and has 18 years of experience as a trial attorney focusing on catastrophic personal injury involving 18 wheeler accidents, motor vehicle accidents, maritime accidents and Jones Act claims, premise liability cases, medical malpractice, and state workers’ compensation. During his career, Barrett has successfully argued at the Louisiana 4th Circuit Court of Appeals, en banc, as well as the Louisiana State Supreme Court resulting in decisions favorably impacting how and when uninsured/underinsured motorist coverage applies to guest passengers in motor vehicle accidents. From 2007-2008, Barrett served as a federal law clerk to the Honorable Lance M. Africk in the United States District Court for the Eastern District of Louisiana. He is also a United States Marine Corps Veteran and served a forward deployed tour of duty in Iraq in 2003 in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom. Barrett was honorably discharged from the Marine Corps at the rank of Sergeant.
